Applications accepted beginning February 13, 2008
Deadline: 11 AM, Monday, February 20, 2008 (firm)

Financial aid awards are provided by Department of Theatre Endowed Funds and the Theatre Patrons Fund. They are awarded to Theatre Majors for service to the Department.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Full time (12 credits) Theatre Majors, who are in good academic standing and have made contributions to the Department of Theatre are eligible to apply. New and Transfer students must have completed 12 credit hours at the University of Maryland before becoming eligible. Participation for which the applicant is financially compensated will not be considered and should not be listed. Remember to list any service to the Department (assisting with set ups, performing for departmental events, assisting faculty and staff, etc.), as well as work on theatre productions. Awards will not be granted to the same applicant in successive semesters. However, a recipient may re-apply after one semester's lapse.

WHAT IS THE AWARD?

Awards are two thousand dollars each. These awards are designed to assist the recipient in pursuing his/her education. They will be presented at the departmental reception prior to the opening night performance in the Kay Theatre. Recipients will be notified prior to the event so they can invite their families to attend. Some financial aid awards require a thank you letter to their patron-sponsor.
