DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE TICKET POLICIES

COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS

Majors Tickets

Complimentary tickets are available to theatre majors and double majors on a first-come basis. A set number of comps are held for each performance of the run of each main season show. Majors may request tickets as of the Thursday two weeks prior to opening - until the Thursday one week before opening. After that, the remaining tickets will be released. Students must be currently registered and a declared major to be on the eligibility list.

Departmental Comps
Each faculty member, staff member or graduate assistant may request from the Ticket Liaison up to two complimentary tickets per production from the pool of departmental complimentary tickets. These requests are handled on a first-come basis; there is no guarantee you can obtain tickets for the performance of your choice. Directors, graduate designers and guest artists may ask for up to six tickets for a production in the Kay Theatre and four tickets for a production in the Kogod Theatre. Requests in excess of these amounts will be referred to the Chair. All complimentary tickets are handled through the departmental representative, if we run out of tickets to a specific performance, we will forward requests for additional comps to the Ticket Office. Please do not personally ask for comp tickets at the Ticket Office.

PURCHASED TICKETS

Production Holds
A certain number of tickets (to be determined by David Kriebs and Dan Wagner based on projections of cast and crew size) will be set aside for each mainstage production. They will be spread over the run of the show. These are tickets for sale that will be held for cast, crew, musicians and dancers involved with the production. There will be a maximum of 4 tickets allowed for each person. Tickets may be purchased during the same window of time - two weeks prior to opening until one week prior to opening. The Ticket Office staff will endeavor to fulfill requests but may be limited by existing sales and other factors. They will work with the Department ticket liaison to find mutual satisfaction. Remaining tickets will be released for sale to the public the Tuesday before the production opens.

Theatre Course Holds
The Ticket Office will continue to hold about 500 tickets for students in theatre courses who are required to see our mainstage productions. These are tickets for sale. Faculty members with this requirement must compile a list of student names and ID numbers. This list must be submitted to administrative staff by the end of the schedule adjustment period. As students are purchasing tickets, they can do so as of the beginning of the semester; in addition the holds will be available during the one-week time period - two weeks prior to opening until one week prior to opening. The Ticket Office will not be able to respond to late requests. Remaining tickets will be released for sale to the public one week after the final Schedule Adjustment date.
