The Department of Theatre offers two tracks within the major:
Design and Production and Performance.

No grade less than C may be applied toward the major (including supporting courses). No course for the major, including supporting courses, may be taken Pass/Fail.

Graduation Requirements

Total Minimum Requirements: You must pass a minimum of 120 academic semester hours (approximately 40 courses).

Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA): You must achieve an absolute minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 (C) in all University of Maryland courses submitted for a degree. The College of Arts and Humanities requires a minimum of 2.00 in the major as well as in the major and supporting area combined.

Requirements for degrees within the College conform generally to the following pattern.

Final 30 credits: You must take at least the final 30 credits of a degree program in residence on the College Park Campus. Students may not take credits at other University of Maryland campuses.

Enrollment in a major: You must be enrolled in the major program from which you plan to graduate when registering for the final 15 credits of the degree program. Students wishing to complete two majors must have approval in advance from the appropriate deans. Necessary forms must be filed at least two semesters before the expected date of graduation.

Graduation applications: You must file a graduation application within the first ten days of the semester in which you plan to graduate. If you do not meet all the requirements for graduation, you must file a new application for the next semester. The fee is a one-time charge.
