Fall 2008 THET Undergraduate Registration

To schedule an advising appointment: read the information on this page and submit the on-line advising application (web link at the foot of this page) one week prior to your ideal advising date listed on the Advising Appointment Chart.

Advising is mandatory for Theatre majors/double majors every semester.

The College of Arts and Humanities has a dual advising system; students must be advised by both their College and their Department(s) at certain times. Check Testudo to see if you have a College advising block. If so, your ARHU advisor must approve your schedule before you are cleared to register. Be sure to make both appointments well before your registration date. Do not expect that you will be accommodated at the last minute.

Advising/Registration Instructions

1. Check your progress toward completing your THET requirements in Degree Navigator and check the Suggested Course of Study page to see if you are on track with meeting your degree requirements.

2. First semester students are required to complete a Academic Plan and should check the ARHU website for information.

3. Before your advising appointment, you must complete an Undergraduate Schedule Request Form. You may print the form from this page or you may pick up a copy at the Theatre Reception area. List all theatre courses you plan to take, including supporting course work. For courses that require an instructor's signature, please take care of this detail before your advising appointment. You do not need initials for courses requiring an audition or for THET 429 credit. For THET 479, bring your signed contract in place of instructor initials.

4. Check the online Schedule of Classes to verify that the classes you plan to take are being taught and use VENUS to create an updated schedule based on courses that still have seats available.

5. Schedule an advising appointment by clicking on your advisor's name at the bottom of this page and then completing and submitting the web form. Do this one week prior to your recommended appointment date. It may take a day or so for your advisor to respond to your message, so we strongly recommend your not leaving your advising appointment until your registration date.

6. When you meet with your advisor, your advising block will be removed and your will be given stamps for courses requiring permission.

7. Once you have met with your advisor, you must then register for your classes. You may do this on Testudo or in person at 1130 Mitchell Building on or after your registration appointment date and time.
